Women in Film Topaz Awards

For the second year, Magic Video produced the Topaz Awards for Women in Film. The ceremony, held at the Westin Galleria in Dallas, honors deserving film professionals with the presentation of awards and scholarships. The Topaz Awards are the efforts of Women in Film, a non-profit organization that seeks to empower, promote, and mentor women working in the film industry. For the event, Magic Video provided effortless editing of the award presentation videos, an incredible live video feed, and expert recording of the show for future distribution. On-site camera work was performed with Magic Video's CamMate, a camera boom arm capable of capturing gorgeous crane shots at heights up to 36 feet, an impressive addition to live events such as the Topaz Awards.

The camera boom arm is a staple of film and video production, but recently it has appeared at live events such as concerts and awards ceremonies. At Magic Video, we strive to incorporate our camera boom arm system, CamMate, in the live events and award galas we produce. Using this system, we can feed live images onto projection screens, providing dramatic shots of award winners accepting their awards. The CamMate also provides versatile angles of the stage and audience that would not otherwise be possible. Magic Video uses the camera boom arm regularly to give a unique look and feel to the award ceremonies we produce.
